We’re a team of materials scientists who turned a KAUST nanocoating research project into a company that formulates and applies antimicrobial coatings for the buildings people pass through every day.
From a university lab bench to a working coating system
Hyaline-Nanocoatings Ltd. began as a research question inside King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST): could a coating bond an antimicrobial nanolayer directly to a surface, instead of relying on a fresh layer of disinfectant every time someone wipes it down?
Several formulation cycles later, the project moved out of the lab and into the KAUST Research & Technology Park as an independent company. Today, the same core team designs, tests, and applies the coating commercially — across hospitals, schools, playgrounds, and storage facilities.
We’re still a small, hands-on team. Every facility we work with talks directly to the people who formulated the coating — not a layer of account managers in between.
